Volunteer awards given out by the Sierra Nations Forest in 2013

86 people earned a Sierra National Forest certificate of recognition, 11 people earned a Presidents Volunteer Award and 11 people earned a National Parks Pass. We were given these awards at the Sierra National Forest annual recognition dinner on April 25th. Congratulations, once again you have been recognized for  your hard work. We have mailed almost all of the awards to everyone.

We had a 9 people on Saturday and 11 people on Sunday at the Millerton Lake trail event, these hearty souls braved the hundred degree weather
and build a ten foot wide by eight foot high wall to shore up a section of the San Joaquin River Trail near the Marina. Check out Face Book site for pictures.
This trail will eventually go from Fresno to Mammoth. The PCT Trip is heading out next week in the Inyo National Forest. The Ansel Adams Trip in on
June 29th still has a few spots left. Upcoming events in July include Big Meadows and Jenny lakes the trips are filling fast, get signed up and reserve a spot.

We have reached $8,500 of our matching $10,000 goal. Eric Hansen’s offer to match up to $5,000 in donated funds has been taken up by a number of people. Since my last e-mail, Karen Duncan, and an unknown person (casualty of Server crash) donated over $350 on our website. Matched by Dr. Hansen that is $700. Great job these donations mean a lot to the Trail Crew. The matching funds are still a great option as well. Matching funds add up, we have received $217 since the last e-mail. We are now signed up with Bank of America, Patagonia, United Way, Aglient, and Boeing If you work for any of these
companies or your company offers matching donations to the organization you choose please consider HSVTC. This is a great way to double and
right now it would be quadrupling your donation. We are also signed up for the Save Mart Shares program. This donation and all of your donations
make our operation possibl
