Membership
Become an important part of the High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew community. Become a member or renew your membership in the High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew, you will be supporting the trail experience that you love or wish to support. We’re a membership organization built of trail lovers like you. Together, we share a common vision, the long-term access and preservation through stewardship of the High Sierras as beautiful public lands we can all experience.
We do not charge for membership but offer High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew yearly memberships at the following levels:
- $1,000 + Trail Guardian (A level Benefits)
- $500 –1,000 Trail Builder (A level Benefits)
- $100 –$499 Trail Partner (B level Benefits)
- $50 –$99 Trail Advocate(C level Benefits)
- $25 –$49 Trail Explorer (Senior/Student)
- $00 – member
A level: Your gift of $500 to $1,000 or higher qualifies you to receive the following benefits. A High Sierra Trail Crew mug and Supporters T-shirt our Semi Annual Newsletter and invitation to our Year End Supporters Party. The knowledge that your membership helps to protect and preserve the High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew for future generations.
B level: Your gift of $100 to $499 qualifies you to receive the following benefits. A High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew mug and our Semi Annual Newsletter.The knowledge that your membership helps to protect and preserve the High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew for future generations.
C Level: Your gift of $50 to $99 qualifies you to receive the following benefits. Our Semi Annual Newsletter.The knowledge that your membership helps to protect and preserve the High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew for future generations.Level:
Trip Sponsorship
Your gift of $500 to $1,000 can sponsor a trip and qualifies you for the following benefits. Prominent recognition on our web site as a sponsor of a trip, business logos are accepted, trips remain up all year. A Certificate of recognition our Semi Annual Newsletter and invitation to our Year End Supporters Party. Sponsoring a trip to that is going to one of your favorite places, a trip that is continuing maintenance on a favorite trail or one you have worked on yourself, maybe a trip you wish you could go on. Any reason is a great reason and great way to support the trail crew. Please contact us with your request.
Funds
Sustaining Membership Fund: This fund pays for all electricity, insurance, staff and other operational costs.
Adopt a Trail Fund: This fund pays for the trails that the HSVTC has adopted.
Trip Fund: This fund supports a specific trip, Your are e-mailed after donation and specify a trip.
Shane Krogen’s memorial Fund: This fund pays for the maintenance of the first trail Shane Krogen, the Founder of the High Sierra Trail Crew chose to adopt back in 1996, and supports our youth programs
Tributes
This category is for funds in tribute of someone, the person being paid a tribute is informed of the tribute payment, you can remain anonymous or let them know about your contribution. This is a great way to let someone know that you noticed that they are doing a great job.
Matching or Workplace Giving
This is one of the best ways to give. Many employers offer Matching programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar thus doubling the impact of your gift. Many employers also match contributions of volunteer time. You will receive the tax benefits of giving to a non profit while having you donation doubled, pretty good deal. Find out if your company offers matching funds for donations, if High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew is not listed among the approved matching partners let us know and we will try to get on the approved list. We are signed up with may employers through Cyber Grants, Aligent other specific employers. As a registered 501 C-3 non profit corporation making us eligible to receive payments. Please check the list below to see if your company offers matching opportunities or check with your human resources department if your company or parent company is not on the list.
