2015 Mendocino Base Camp Trip Huge Success!

Hello everyone!

Sorry it took so long for a trip update. We accomplished a great amount of work while following the three rule principal: (1) safety first, (2) with safety comes fun, (3) while having fun we get some work done. We operated out of a base camp at a wonderful private residence near the Traveler’s Home Trail. Thirty five (0”-6”), seven (6”-12”), and three (12”-24”) trees were removed. Approximately 25 trees on Saturday and 25 trees on Sunday were felled by the fire crew that we cooperated with. 2,640 feet of minor brushing was finished. 3 miles of rocks on the trail were removed, 100 feet of trail sloughing was removed, and 8 water bars were cleaned. Three dips were cleaned and two were built. Eight switchbacks were created totaling 250 feet. Nineteen cairns are now rebuilt. Eight steps were created. Three miles of trail was reestablished and 100 feet of reroute covered.
