Four major reasons to give.
- Enable us to keep our trips FREE to all participants
- Help us maintain the public’s access to their public lands
- We involve people in stewardship of their public lands
- Your donation covers our operating and trip costs
The High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew is supported by corporate donations, grants and private donations. We believe that volunteers should not have to pay to participate, which means we are covering the bill. One of our biggest challenge is paying for over head costs. We are very busy for six months of the year and are busy the rest of the year planning, obtaining grants and preparing for the next year. While we are able to obtain grant monies for specific trips and projects the money usually is restricted from covering our operating costs throughout the year. The High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew is instrumental in maintaining and opening trails on our public lands. Due to budget and staffing cuts the public land agencies are now relying on volunteer organizations more than ever before to keep trail systems open. Your support helps High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew respond to threats to the existing trail systems on our public lands ensuring that they will remain open. We keep the idea and practice of Stewardship of our public lands alive and well, starting with young people on through retirees. Help keep us going, donate today!
